digital landfill: A Strategic retreat (2020-NOW)Digital Landfill is an internet-based ongoing project in response to this increasing aggression. A stubborn retaliation with the risk of becoming invisible. Various abstract digital landscapes are created using images physical or digital debris like social media posts, image of bodies, aluminum foil, etc. The project invites viewers to linger and contemplate instead of consuming. Reclaiming the leisure aspect of our time that it is now so saturated with fillers and routines. Accumulating counter aesthetic to the smoothness that may eventually overflow back to social media. This project questions the creative potential behind this phenomenon of self-withdrawing or self-obliteration. Can the strategic retreat allow me to create a counter aesthetic free of the need to be seen and be liked? If so, what can that anti-capitalist aesthetic be? Therefore, these virtual spaces aim to create lingering experience on various platform through reutilizing digital visual materials are considered as highly disposable like Instagram Post, Fast-fashion catalogue, images of bodies, etc.
